Position: Finishing Operator I

Location: 9312 Winterberry Ave, Covington, VA 24426

Pay: $23.91/hr

Shift: Rotating 12 hours - 48 hrs days then 36 hrs days; 48 hrs nights then 36 hrs nights



While reporting to the Production Supervisor, as a Finishing Operator, you will be responsible for plugging cores, loading carts. Customer specifications and requirements must be satisfied while ensuring that quality and expectations, both internal and external, are met. Responsibilities also include the ability to work with others in a team environment.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Must work safely at all times, following all Plant and Division Safety rules and policies.
  • Perform all functions in accordance with specified safety procedures and designated PPE (personal protective equipment).
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with hand and cleaning tools
  • Inspecting products and making sure product meets quality specifications, plugging cores, packing cores into pallets/cartons, trimming, and helping load or unload trucks
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments on time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

  • Heavy work requires exertion of up to fifty (50) lbs. of force occasionally, up to twenty (20) lbs. of force consistently and up to ten (10) lbs. of force constantly to move/lift objects vertically and/or horizontally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, arm and hand movements, lifting and pushing
  • You can perform work under minimal supervision
  • You can handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
  • You possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
  • You can act as a lead and provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
