Due to the nature of the work, this employee is expected to be onsite at the TEEC during working hours. Monday - Friday 12:00PM - 9:00PM or Monday - Thursday 10:00AM - 9:00PM

Work hours will be coordinated with a peer IT Professional, a Facilities professional and a supervisor to meet the needs of the TEEC. Hours will be flexible during the week and occasionally on weekends. Applicant must be flexible to work weekends and mornings as needed and scheduled.

Position Summary
The position is based at the Terry Executive Education Center (TEEC) in Atlanta, located at 3475 Lenox Rd NE, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30326.

This incumbent will ensure the stable operation of Terry College's Executive Education Center (TEEC) in Buckhead/Atlanta. This role is comprised of managing classroom and other Audio-Visual technology, providing end-user IT support, and ensuring the success of various meetings, academic programs, and special events. It includes hands-on support of multiple simultaneous remote, onsite, and hybrid classes, meetings, and events.

This position involves knowledge of installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of desktop hardware and software, along with proficient network understanding and troubleshooting skills. Customer service will be a personal core principle to achieve success in this environment. Interpersonal skills, in addition to technical skills, are also important. The ideal incumbent will be a polished professional with a great attitude and strong communication skills with the willingness to work a flexible schedule.

This position collaborates with faculty and departments to design, implement, and support instructional technologies. It involves maintaining and repairing integrated video/audio/data classroom systems and related analog and digital instructional technologies. The individual will provide efficient telephone and on-site support to minimize classroom disruptions. Knowledge of current and evolving instructional technologies and resources is essential. Additionally, the position involves installation of current A/V technologies in compliance with UGA and industry standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues related to computer hardware, software, supporting Windows and Apple operating systems, peripherals, and network devices used in UGA classrooms. The role also serves as the main contact for room management systems and involves knowledge of installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and proficiency in desktop hardware/software support and network troubleshooting.

This employee is part of a 4 person facilities and IT support team that provides operational support for the 33,000 square foot Terry College of Business Executive Education Center (TEEC), including 4 large classrooms, 2 large event spaces and meeting spaces ranging from 6-person team rooms to a large Executive Boardroom. Job functions include cross-training on facilities and event management and all other activities required to maintain high level operation of the facility. This position will support internal stakeholders, external customers, students, faculty and other visitors that are part of the Terry College Community.

The Terry Executive Education Center is a high-profile facility in the heart of the Atlanta business district. It is a centerpiece for our outreach to Executives throughout Atlanta and is frequently the location for high profile presentations by guest executives, high profile meetings such as the Dean's Advisory Council, and high-profile conferences such as the Chief Financial Officer's Roundtable. TEEC hosts live and remote learning sessions for the Terry College Executive Programs, including weeklong customized sessions for companies and open enrollment programs for individual professionals. The Terry College also runs three Professional MBA Programs from this facility. In addition, there are room rentals to UGA and UGA affiliated groups that may be supported by this position.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Set up Audiovisual Equipment including additional support AV tools like equipment racks.
* Set up and install media equipment such as LCD projectors, speakers, TVs, video monitors, and cameras.
* Run video, audio, and signal testing.
* Troubleshoot and adjust the AV system as required. Operate and troubleshoot sound and video. Use objective analysis to spot issues and eliminate them before an event.
* Enthusiastic individual who can follow instructions and work well with a team while installing video, lighting, and audio systems.
* Knowledge of audio/video editing tools such as Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, OBS, Audacity, DVD Studio, etc.
* Set up and run the sound and video equipment used to conduct live events such as meetings, business conventions, and panelist events.
* Mix soundboards, play video recordings, coordinate graphics, run power points, record audio/video, direct video by switching cameras, etc.
* Knowledgeable in IT problem-solving skills, intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of PC and Apple hardware and software support, intermediate to advanced knowledge of presentation systems, data/video projectors, audio/visual equipment, control systems, and distance learning technology (video conferencing).
* Self-starter, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the facility.

Preferred Skills:
* Proficient in Desktop and Laptop hardware technical skills.
* General understanding of file/folder permissions
* Experience with:
o Supporting Windows operating systems. Ability to learn advanced knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems and troubleshooting tools.
o Antivirus configuration. / Spyware/Malware.
o Supporting Microsoft Office products.
o Printer drivers / printer configuration, including multi-function.
o Printer part replacement.
o Replacing hard drives, understanding compatibility and RAID technology.
o Adding memory and compatibility.
o Managing wireless networking.
o Basic networking terminology and technologies (LAN/WAN, wireless, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls).

  • Daily monitoring of assigned classrooms (on-site and remotely), maintenance, troubleshooting, quick response and answer time to quick response to classroom problems and end-user training.
  • Assist TEEC patrons with computer support for presentation systems in classrooms/team rooms/conference rooms and participate in TEEC support meetings.
