Sr. Data Solution Architect - Data & Analytics Georgia-Pacific (GP) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Data Solution Architect to join our Data & Analytics Architecture Team. In this pivotal role, the selected candidate will be instrumental in advancing the technology strategy and the solutions we deliver to our business. Engagement on our team involves designing solution architecture, establishing standards for architectural patterns, publishing best practices, and partnering to operationalize our data and analytics strategy. Additionally, they will champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, elevating new technology, creating solution accelerators, and advancing frameworks for re-use across our DnA organization.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Demand and Delivery Team to perform discovery and design for a portfolio of business initiatives.
  • Provide input on approach, alternatives, and level of effort for statements of work.
  • Create Solution Component Architecture Designs associated with specific business investments.
  • Create an publish best practices, standards, and architectural patterns for use across Enterprise Data Analytics organization.
  • Partner with Demand, Delivery, and Governance Teams to advance the inventory of available data products for re-use across analytical solutions.
  • Engage in governance processes to oversee and measure the alignment of design, development, and delivery with architectural standards
  • Develop Solution Accelerators and Enterprise Frameworks focused on improving efficiency in platform delivery and utilization.
  • Partner with Architects, Technical Leads, and Analytics Developers to continuously improve reliability, cost, and scalability of solutions.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least 5 years' experience in data modeling, data design, data warehousing concepts and associated programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark)
  • Experience designing, solutioning, and developing data and analytics solutions (e.g., Data Modeling, Data Engineering, and Data Visualization).
  • Experience in working in one or more data analytic platforms (e.g., AWS Cloud, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure Cloud)


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Domain knowledge of business processes, and operations.(e.g., Marketing, Sales, Operations, Transportation, Finance, Procurement, Safety, Environmental).
  • Data Modeling of business processes, and operations.(e.g., Marketing, Sales, Operations, Transportation, Finance, Procurement, Safety, Environmental).
  • AWS proficiency, knowledge, and/or certifications (e.g., Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift).
  • Snowflake proficiency, knowledge and/or project experience (e.g., Development Patterns, Integrations, Data Modeling, Data Processing).
  • Experience building re-usable solution accelerators as frameworks for data ingestion, processing an consumption to enable peer IT delivery teams.
  • Prior experience working within Agile Team managing work via industry standard tools (e.g., DevOps, Jira, GitHub).
