Job title: Director of Practice Digitization

Current Need:

The Director of Practice Digitization is accountable for providing Oversight and delivery of Key and Novel digitization IT-managed, enterprise system portfolios. For this position, the term "enterprise" encompasses platforms, systems, tools and supporting technologies that benefit the broader patient population. This position actively partners and collaborates with business leaders to derive and drive value from existing and innovative technology investments, including forward-thinking integration, automation, and analytical capabilities. USON's IT system landscape is, and will continue to be, 100% multi-tenant cloud. As such, optimizing and coordinating internal and external talent across operational and project teams is essential. This is an exciting and engaging role that works with every business function. This is a hands-on role that reports to the Vice President of Digital Engagement at USON (US Oncology).

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, strategize and oversee delivery of key strategic digital roadmap initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and Objectives for the Digital Team that is aligned with Corporate & Oncology Strategy team.
  • Oversee the overall Product Lifecycle, while acting influencing SRE, Operations and Customer Support teams to deliver solutions that supports and achieves operational business goals and targets.
  • Serve as a thought-partner for our product management & Customer Support teams in determining how to get the most business value from our technology investments
  • Participate and contribute to discussions with Practice leadership and RVP's, McKesson, and Partner technical teams about new business opportunities.
  • Co-ordination across diverse, multi-layered teams including external partners. Be responsible for delivering on-time and at-quality by developing strategic plans to ensure successful implementations of action plans and objectives where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company, consumers, competitors, as well as technology and software development practices.
  • Coach and mentor the teams, and evolve processes to drive velocity, schedule accuracy and increase quality. You will be expected to continuously iterate and optimize for driving impact.
  • Provide project management support as it relates to engineering projects and follow up with Engineers regarding ongoing projects.
  • Work closely with IT leadership and business partners to evolve our IT strategic roadmap.
  • Facilitate "ways of working" group(s) to co-create and maintain Product Delivery Playbook, How We Sprint, Product Engineering Best Practices, Coding Standards, etc.
  • Directly Participate in, Oversee, and manage engineering projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Transition appropriate levels of our current enterprise system ownership into IT.
  • Own budget forecast, management and actuals tracking for in-scope technology spend.
  • Develop and implement metrics and monitoring to assess the health of the Portfolio.
  • Collaborate with ITOps to develop and builda world class operations team to handle the Product Lifecycle including DevOps, SRE and Operational needs.

Key skills and essential job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline.
  • 15+ years IT experience with a minimum of 5 years in the Life Sciences / Healthcare industry.
  • 7+ years in Engineering and Product that required hiring, leading, and developing IT employees.
  • Working functional and systems experience across:
    • Healthcare Digitization (Interoperability, Automation)
    • Oncology Platforms (Care Management, Symptom Management)
    • Quality (eDMS, eQMS, LMS (Learning Management System))
  • Proven IT / Technology knowledge (SSO - Single Sign-on, Microservices, Workflow Automation, Analytics, Cybersecurity)
  • Proven operational experience delivering and maintaining enterprise scale Healthcare (preferably Oncology) products and services systems.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), GxP, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and GDPR.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and consultative skills are an absolute must.

  • Adaptable and flexible; adapt to changing business needs, conditions, and priorities.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$141,700 - $236,100
