Job Summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking an experienced, motivated APP Team Lead for their busy Trauma Service. Located in the Coastal Virginia region, our unique districts are open and thriving year-round from the lively hustle and bustle of the oceanfront and Town Center to the remote and calming areas of Sandbridge and the Chesapeake Bay.

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (7a-5p), every 4-5th weekend rotation, no night call;

General Duties: daily rounds, procedures (central lines, chest tubes, suturing)

Team Lead Duties:
* Provides support/resources for Trauma/Surgery APPs and elective ortho APPs - strong understanding of hospital policies, procedures, and processes
* Responsible for schedule
* Serve as liaison between nurses, nurse managers, hospital staff, medical staff, executive leadership (CMO/CNO/COO), trauma program leadership, ortho service-line director, practice leads (Coastal Surgery and OrthoVirginia) and APPs.
* Conflict resolution
* Ensures APPs maintain current ATLS, ACLS, BLS, and required CME for trauma center designation.
* Assists with interviewing/hiring new APPS, onboard new APPs
* Serves as APP lead on the Hospital and Medical Staff committees: department of surgery, trauma quality, QMR, MEC.
