Job Title: Maintenance Technician - NIGHT SHIFT

Department: Maintenance & Engineering

Reports To: Plant Engineering Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly

Job Description:

Responsible for all maintenance activities, including equipment safety, maximizing machine productivity and uptime, as well as the condition and upkeep of the facility. This position plays a key role in supporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system for process reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in preventive & predictive maintenance/process reliability efforts.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment (both mechanical and electrical systems).
  • Diagnosis and repair of equipment and facility malfunctions and faults.
  • Use technical expertise to identify solutions to equipment related problems and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist Production personnel with non-routine problems with the operation of equipment.
  • Work in conjunction with Project Engineers to provide support for capital improvement projects as necessary.
  • Work closely with ISO Coordinator and standards bodies (e.g. ISO-9001, ISO-14001) to ensure continuous compliance with ISO standards and requirements.
  • Ability to work in an efficient & timely manner, multitasking where necessary. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree, diploma or technical certificates in related field is acceptable, or 2 - 5 years of experience in a combination of at least two of the following:
    • Plant Maintenance
    • Building Maintenance
    • Equipment Manufacturing
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated hands on experience and working knowledge with each of the following:
    • Industrial Mechanical Systems and Controls
    • Industrial Electrical Systems and Controls
    • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • History of meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong team player
  • Must have demonstrated communication skills and be able to prioritize complex tasks and problem solve.
  • Computer literate - Experience in Microsoft Office products: Excel and Word a must.
  • Flexible schedule to provide coverage for all shifts as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, push, pull & reach for long periods of time. Must be able to lift & carry up to 60 lbs. Ability to maneuver around an array of machinery. Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel. Color & peripheral vision; depth perception & ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to perform duties which requires continual standing, bending, squatting, and climbing.
  • Work environment conditions include: exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes, airborne particles and chemicals; extreme heat & loud noise level in some areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to wear half mask respirator, safety glasses & other assigned PPE for the duration of the shift.
  • 12 - hour shift with additional overtime as required.
