Counseling Center
Job Summary
Monitor the provision of direct mental health services at the University Counseling Center based on Counseling Center policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to best standards and practice for university counseling centers based on Counseling Center Model, ethical codes, IACS accreditation standards, American Psychological Association accreditation standards, applicable State and Federal statutes, local health and safety laws and regulations, and Georgia Southern University risk management policies and procedures. Provide administrative and counseling supervision to counseling staff members, as assigned by Executive Director. Provide direct mental health services to students, outreach programming and professional training to the Georgia Southern community on a variety of mental health issues, mental health training, and supervision to counseling center trainees, and consultations to faculty and staff regarding college student mental health.
Responsibilities
Assist in maintenance of relevant center accreditations
Compile, monitor, and report to the Executive Director data regarding services provided by the Counseling Center staff
In the absence of the Executive Director have oversight and responsibility for Statesboro campus counseling center services
Serve as Direct report for Counseling Center staff, as assigned by Executive Director
Provide supervision toward licensure for new counseling center staff, as assigned by Executive Director
Maintain clinical databases
Oversee center research
Provide individual, relationship, and group therapy to Georgia Southern students
Provide crisis on-call service in rotation with other clinical staff
Provide crisis/triage assessment and response to students as needed
Participate in various training programs housed within the Counseling Center
Provide clinical supervision to practicum students and Doctoral Interns
Provide outreach programming and consultations to campus community
Maintain all relevant ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice for Licensed Psychologists in the state of Georgia
Coordinate one or more areas of Counseling Center service as requested by Executive Director
Maintain compliance with Counseling Center policies and procedures
Provide crisis/triage assessment and response to students as needed
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology
Other Required Qualifications
Licensure as a Psychologist and ability to obtain Licensure as a Psychologist in Georgia within three (3) months of start date
Required Experience
Three (3) or more years of post-licensure related work experience
Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems
Familiarity with principles and practice of using statistical analyses
Familiarity with APA and IACS accreditation standards
Preferred Experience
Experience working in a university counseling center
Experience with data presentation
Experience with public speaking
Experience with crisis intervention
Proposed Salary
$79,000 - $85,000
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

Understanding of social, developmental, and psychological issues and challenges faced by students with higher education
