This position requires an in-depth understanding of metallic material and the processes for aircraft application and associated FAA certification requirements. Experience working with either with an ODA or directly with the FAA is a plus.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of metallic materials process such as casting, forging, extrusion, additive manufacturing, heat treatment, welding, and plating.
Proven experience with aircraft materials certification with comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations, Advisory Circular, as well as the certification process.
Extensive experience with materials characterization, testing, and selection of metallic materials such as aluminum alloy, titanium, steel and so on.
Experience with design allowable generation, and familiar with MMPDS, CMH-17 handbook, ECSS handbook.
Experience with materials failure analysis, NDT, and corrosion investigation.
Proven experience with materials qualification by following industrial standards or guidelines such as ASTM, AMS, and DO160G.
Experience with creating and maintaining materials and process specification.
