Responsibilities:

* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

* Business plan preparation, analysis and maintenance for locomotives and freight cars.

* Will review needs analysis and make recommendations in areas such as workforce efficiencies.

* Familiar with and comply with the guidelines set forth by the FRA, AAR and Patriot Rail.

* Train personnel on proper inspection and repair procedures.

* Responsibilities include shop operations, field operations, planning and training.

* Assure compliance with regulatory agencies and license requirements.

* Collaborate with other members of the management team to ensure operational efficiencies.

* Develop, implement, and monitor operational practices to ensure equipment reliability and quality service while ensuring a safe and productive workplace.

* Oversee the supervision of assigned personnel, which includes hiring, work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

* Comply with and ensure staff compliance with all safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.

* Attend and participate in all assigned training.

Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations 49 and sections pertaining to Locomotives, FRA, OSHA and EPA regulations.

* Thorough knowledge of all mechanical and electrical locomotive systems, including air equipment, event recorder and alerter systems.

* Understanding of inventory and purchasing control.

* Ability to formulate and work with a Business Plan.

* Ability to schedule maintenance within an Operating Plan.

* Five (5) years of experience in equipment maintenance supervision

* Must possess a valid driver's license

* Must have a comprehensive knowledge of FRA procedures and processes

* Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and repair

* Must be able to work any day of week depending on workload and requirements

* Must also be committed to promoting a safe workplace

* Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Must possess strong leadership skills.

* Proficient with MS Word, Excel and e-mail.

* Must be able to climb inside and outside of equipment.

* Extensive travel required monthly - up to 75%.

* Valid Driver's License

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science and/or industrial field preferred however demonstrated equivalent experience, education and technical credentials may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Work outside in all weather conditions.
