Job Summary

The College of Education prepares future teachers, education leaders, school psychologists, counselors, school library media specialists, instructional technologists, and researchers through intensive field experiences, cutting-edge technology, and research-based instruction (see ). With more than 100 faculty members who are experts in the field, students learn in an environment exemplified by a free exchange of ideas, high academic expectations, and individual responsibility for academic achievement.

Reporting to the department chair, the Assistant/Associate Professor of P-12 Education Leadership position requires teaching in P-12 Education Leadership courses at the Master, Education Specialist, and Doctoral levels, advisement, research, and service responsibilities. The position is an academic 10-month tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education Leadership or a closely related field prior to August 1, 2024.

Minimum of three years of leadership experience at P-12 site-level and/or district level.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses.

Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.

Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

Demonstrated skills and commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of engagement with educators and leaders in P-12 schools and support for school/university partnerships.

Experience working with diverse student populations.

Experience with program reviews and accreditation

Working knowledge of educational leadership standards, including national and Georgia-based standards

Experience coordinating programs through advisement, leadership in program and curriculum development, and/or program assessment.

Evidence of a scholarly research agenda related to P-12 school leadership.

Comprehensive awareness and understanding of current issues facing P-12 Education and Leadership

Successful experience in innovative projects, grant writing or securing external funds.
