Position Description:

Day-to-day responsibilities of the Human Resources Function, such as, performance evaluation, training, and regulatory issues. In addition, specific focus on Employee Relations and benefits issues will be required in this role.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides counseling to employees and management related to interpretation of hospital policies, procedures and practices regarding employee discipline, grievances, performance evaluations and other human resource issues.
Investigates employee relations complaints, prepares documentation and provides recommendations for corrective action.
Assists with communication of employee benefit program, which involves responding to employee questions and concerns, providing policy interpretations, and determining and executing, as appropriate, methods for problem resolution. All of these functions provided in consultation with appropriate main campus benefits staff.
Assist with the coordination, implementation and evaluation of the organization-wide new hire mentoring program. Collects data that reflects impact on new hire retention. Prepares reports.
Ensures compliance by department/unit directors and managers with the new hire mentoring policies and procedures. Responds to mentee and/or mentor issues as appropriate.
Ensures hospital compliance with applicable state and federal regulations for areas of responsibility. Assist with development and updates as necessary and maintains all policies and procedures related to HR.

Position Requirements:
Required:

1. a. B.S. or B.A. degree in Human Resources or related field, plus two (2) years experience in Human Resources, OR; b. A.S. Degree and Four (4) years experience as a Human Resources Generalist.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources programs regulations and administration procedures.
3. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. 4. Prior experience with computers or word processing systems.
Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computers and word processing systems. 2. Certification in Human Resources through workshops, seminars, or course work. 3. SPHR or PHR certification.
