The School of Computing (SoC) is a growing and congenial school of 45 faculty within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering. The SoC has nearly 1800 undergraduate students, and 260 graduate students, and offers the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, B.S. and MS degrees in Data Science, and an M.S. degree in Cybersecurity and Privacy. School also contributes to a number of other programs, like B.S. programs in Cognitive Science and Computer Systems Engineering and M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Artificial Intelligence. Our faculty cover a broad range of interests, including Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence (broadly defined to also include computer vision and robotics), Bioinformatics, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Security and Privacy, Computational Science, and Computer Systems (including parallel, distributed, embedded, real-time, and high-performance computing). Applicants should hold a Graduate Degree in Computer Science or a related field like Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or Electrical and Computer Engineering at the time of appointment.

The School of Computing at the University of Georgia invites applications for two limited- term lecturer positions starting August 2024. Limited-term faculty are appointed to a one (1) year term, which may be renewed annually for a maximum of two (2) years.

The candidate should be capable of teaching multiple regularly offered undergraduate classes from School of Computing.

A terminal degree is required for the rank of Lecturer. Candidates with a master’s degree must document exceptional accomplishments in Computer Science or a related field like Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or Electrical and Computer Engineering and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.

The ideal candidate for this position will show a commitment to excellence in teaching.
