Position Summary
Highly responsible position performing administrative support functions for the Fortson 4-H Center. Responsibilities include support of the overall 4-H mission with focus on the 4-H environmental education and 4-H summer camp programs. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, systems, and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain administrative, fiscal and guest records and to prepare reports and answer questions from such records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, students and associates and to effectively convey information.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software including Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and website maintenance software.
  • Enjoy working and interacting with the public, school teachers, vendors and University personnel as well as target youth audience.
  • Ability to understand and answer questions about Fortson’s core programs (Georgia 4-H Environmental Education and Summer Camp Programs).

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintains fiscal records using an Access-based computer spreadsheet program, prepares check requests, receives and deposits monies and prepares fiscal reports.
  • Coordinates weekly user fee bank deposits and reconciles bank statements monthly.
  • Assist in operation of Canteen with depositing monies and reconciling accounts.
  • Takes payments, check, cash, credit card (in-person and over phone) and reconciles group accounts.

  • Serves as first contact person for Fortson 4-H Center by receiving deliveries, answering phones, and greeting customers and guests and answering their questions as able.
  • Prepares correspondence, maintains records and files, and prepares reports and other general office duties.

  • Enters reservation information into Fortson 4-H Center computer reservation system to generate contracts, maintains paper folders for different user groups, and communicates directly with user groups as needed.

  • Handles and maintains all paperwork pertaining to personnel (hiring, termination, separation, transfer, leave request, etc.).

  • Performs other 4-H Center support work as required including help with food service, facility cleaning between groups, janitorial and landscaping support depending on facility calendar.
  • Assists with managing 4-H Center web sites.
