Job Description

This is a highly specialized position requiring aircraft and avionics experience. It is a GREAT opportunity to be a Technical Content Manager and review all technical manuals, technical orders, material command, manual changes, order changes, supplements and Foreign Military Service inputs for applicability to FMS manuals and ensure that the changes are 100% accurate. Specifically, you will:

  • Ensure Expedited Special Handling AFMC 252s are implemented as Interim Operational Supplements (IOS) within 120 days, or sooner from date of receipt by Technical Order Management Agency (TOMA).
  • Reply to Routine AFTO Forms 22 within 45 calendar days. TCMs will sanitize the F-15 data as required, incorporate into FMS manuals, and distribute updated information to the FMS customer.
  • TCMs will provide technical support during the preparation of AFMC Forms 252, as necessary.
  • Support the development and coordination of urgent and emergency technical data updates to include Interim Time Compliance Technical Orders (ITCTOs), Interim Technical Orders (ITOs) and Rapid Action Changes (RACs) within the cycle times in TO 00-5 series manuals using associated electronic distribution systems.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or related field

Experience

  • Ten (10)+ years' experience with technical writing, documentation, or editorial writing, specifically in F-15s and TO writing.
  • Engineering or ops experience
  • Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Frame Maker experience preferred but not required

License, Cert or Registration

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.

Special knowledge, skills, & abilities

  • Experience working with software engineering teams
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills. This role will interact with executive level staff, technical staff, operational support members, etc., so the ability to interact with various roles is required
  • Personable and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature and an overall passion for excellence
  • Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work well with numbers and conduct effective data analysis including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Inclined to take initiative to identify and address problems as they are discovered.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, manage key deadlines and escalate issues timely
