Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful and diverse team as we are looking for a Senior Animator to join our team.

The Senior Animator will work with a team of designers, writers, artists, animators, and engineers in the creation of compelling player and NPC movement and combat animation content for our next 3rd person action-adventure title. The Senior Animator is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Animation Director.

You have a passion for studying the mechanics of human behavior and movement. You are knowledgeable of several forms of martial arts with an ability to apply that knowledge in creation of a compelling combat experience. You will collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to achieve a seamless integration of animated content into a compelling gameplay experience. The Senior Animator will combine foundational animation skills, technical knowledge, cross discipline collaboration to breathe life into the characters on screen.

Responsibilities

* Author high-quality player and NPC animation using a combination of motion editing and keyframe.

* Create pre-visualizations and prototypes to assist in communication and development.

* Collaborate with design and engineering to implement, iterate and polish character motions within the Epic Unreal Engine.

* Partner with Senior Animation Director and partners in the development of mocap shot list and provide mocap direction when applicable.

* Provide feedback, mentorship and inspiration to junior animators and promote the animation direction and philosophy across the entire team.

* Work with technical animators to establish our character rig needs and push our tools and workflows to improve.

* In game review of your personal work to ensure it hits animation, gameplay and technical quality targets, tracking it through completion.

Qualifications

* 6+ years' applicable experience in the games industry.

* Proficiency in Maya

* Familiarity with advanced game engines like Unreal, Unity and others

* A demo reel that showcases examples of high-quality character animation, high-action and body mechanics.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


BASE SALARY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
$122,400 - $176,300 USD Annually
* New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
$115,700 - $176,300 USD Annually
* Jersey City, NJ :
$142,000 - $176,300 USD Annually
* Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
$131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
$115,700 - $163,100 USD Annually
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
$107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
