Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Learning and Development Manager to support our paper machine teams at the Brunswick Cellulose facility. In this position, you will play a vital part in supporting one of our paper machines by owning, executing, and deploying department training strategies, ensuring alignment with and support for the operating envelope of the assigned department.


Our Team

The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The Brunswick Cellulose Mill, located in the southeast corner of Georgia is within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL to the south and Savannah, GA to the north.


What You Will Do

  • Coordinate training plans in partnership with the Superintendent and scheduler.
  • Ensure effective line of progression process within the department.
  • Validate and verify completion of training objectives and content with supervisors.
  • Own the execution of panel reviews and assess training program effectiveness.
  • Manage new hires beyond 90 days, including performance management and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with department administration to execute training plans.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Other L&D Managers, Operations Superintendents, Shift Supervisors, HR, and Safety teams.
  • Ensure accuracy of training materials content and support the deployment of department training strategies.
  • Update/write standard procedures, job plans, troubleshooting guides, etc.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience and knowledge of machine operations, processes, and equipment.
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials and programs.
  • Knowledge of process optimization techniques and tools.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching operational knowledge/skills and leading trainings.
  • Experience in using data analytics to evaluate training program effectiveness.
