Job Purpose

Senior QA Analyst must a self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a focus in high quality standards. This role requires a results-oriented individual with knowledge in commodities trading. The analyst will work with Product Development, Development, Project Management, and sometimes with the operations teams to understand the business, product, and system requirements. This position requires to be responsible for building & reviewing test plan, test strategies, test scenarios, writing & executing test cases, and reporting corresponding defects for any issues encountered during testing. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining QA artifacts by following the current standards along with coordinating test execution and training other team members. You will be responsible for owning specific systems and at times managing releases from the QA perspective. This position requires technical proficiency/problem solving as well as an eager attitude, professionalism, ability to interact positively and confidently in a well-established QA team demonstrating solid communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Strong background in functional testing with the ability to design and develop comprehensive manual test strategy and test cases.
• Strong background in reviewing business and functional requirements in order to produce a test strategy and test cases.
• Creates the Test Plan for the software release, defining resources, and test suites required for each test cycle, dependencies, risks, and the overall strategy for testing complex systems or applications.
• Performs all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression and system testing.
• Testing in a multi-tiered-based architecture.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work with relevant teams to materialize them.
• Experience participating in all aspects of a full-lifecycle development methodology, and related quality concepts and processes.
• Performs troubleshooting configuration problems.
• Ability to lead a distributed testing effort.
• Ability to maintain the environment(s) up to date and available for testing.

Knowledge and Experience

• B.S. or master's degree in computer science, information technology, math or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in enterprise application testing (test case development and execution) web-based applications.
• 2+ years' experience with commodity market or a financial trading environment.
• 3+ years of working knowledge of Oracle environments with strong SQL skills
• Ability to build and maintain a QA lab environment.
• Track record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of quality.
• Experience and/or knowledge of all aspects of the SDLC methodology and related concepts and practices
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deliverables based on business, technical, and client needs.
• Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in testing web applications.
• Experience with both White Box and Black Box Testing.
• Extensive knowledge of testing process, testing methodology analysis and defect reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently and productively under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and decision-making ability.
• Experience in test automation is a plus.
• Programming skills (sufficient to write automation scripts, and to validate test results in a database, or through some other non-GUI based method) is a plus
• Experience in working with Micro Focus ALM/Quality Center, and Jira.
