Job Description

Overview

The Director is a Registered Professional nurse who is responsible for the leadership and accountability for nursing units. The Director is responsible in for implementing programs leading to improved quality of care, patient safety, best practices, customer experience, budgeting, and finances, strategy, and revenue growth along with enhanced professional relationships. Key areas of responsibility include Unit staffing within budgetary constraints, monitoring of supply usage within budgetary constraints, collection and/or analysis of data related to the performance of assigned units, operationalizing improvement plans, and working to assure compliance with all The Joint Commission and Compliance standards for all assigned units. The Director is responsible for human resource planning, fiscal planning, and planning for growth and development for the assigned units. The Director is an internal consultant and team leader/facilitator as needed to departments or groups requiring nursing leadership expertise. The Director will ensure the functioning for the day-to-day operations of the assigned nursing units.

Requirements:


Education:

Graduate from an accredited School of Registered Professional Nurses. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Masters' Degree in affiliated field preferred. Participation in American Association of Nurse Leaders and Georgia Organization of Nurse Leaders encouraged.


Experience:

Minimum of seven years of experience in functional area with four years management level experience.


Licensure/Certification:

Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. BCLS Certification required.
