PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Adult Learning Lead will develop and execute a manufacturing training strategy including areas such as equipment operations, quality control, safety measures, maintenance procedures and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). As the plant's on-site expert in training best practices and adult learning, you will partner closely with plant leadership and other team members to ensure the training program meets business needs, supports a safe, productive, capable, and engaged workforce to enable the business strategy.

Job Responsibilities

Training Program Development & Execution

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training solutions with a people-centric approach, focusing on employee roles in operations/production, maintenance, vocational trades, and supervision/leadership.
  • Align training initiatives with business strategy, mission, purpose, and values to enhance performance.
  • Support Safety, Quality, Production & TPM team members in delivering training to world-class standards and developing training support materials.
  • Conduct needs analyses and proactively design interventions to resolve plant losses and support employee participation in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Provides input for training budget based on needs analyses.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs and Training & Development (T&D) Coordinator, to improve training effectiveness across the plant by identifying and drive opportunities to improve training.
  • Provide Train-the-Trainer programming and ongoing coaching for frontline leaders and trainers.
  • Facilitate training to engage plant stakeholders with the training program, including new hire orientation and safety training.
  • Build relationships across the plant as the on-site expert in best practices for training in manufacturing.

Facilitates an Environment of Continuous Improvement and Learning

  • Drive innovation in plant training by leading creative solutions to improve productivity
  • Enable and lead on-the-job training pilots for entry-level positions. Assist with evaluating pilot results and creating scalable and sustainable solution.
  • Use training to support the integration of new technology within the training program and on-the-job training.
  • Enable knowledge capture and transfer processes for a diverse, multigenerational workforce.
  • Integrate business-wide resources into the training program so that employees can better access training materials and job aids at (or close to) the point and time of use.
  • Partner with plant stakeholders to set training priorities and plant roadmap.
  • Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to deliver and execute successful training program.

Training Skills Management and Metrics

  • Analyze the plant's training metrics to identify opportunities and trends, then partner with the plant leadership and TPM pillars to improve the training program and resolve losses.
  • Handle training-related communications, logistics, and communication; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Establish consistent reporting metrics and the cadence to check progress against these metrics. As needed, performs advanced loss analyses such as breakdown analyses.
  • Partner with the T&D Coordinator to ensure training records, routine analytics, and metrics are kept up to date.
  • Partner with the T&D Coordinator to ensure that qualification check sheets, task and skill matrices, and other plant training documentation is complete, up to date, and used to inform strategic decisions within the plant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of training and development experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred in business, human resources, organizational development or other related field.
  • Certification in adult learning and training design through Association of Talent Development (ATD) OR demonstrates practical use of best practices and technologies for on-the-job training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong capability in training design and facilitation

  • Comprehensive understanding of adult learning methodology and best practices in manufacturing training and development, inclusive of TPM
