Job Summary

The Associate Director provides leadership and support for the development, administration, and evaluation of comprehensive institutional and unit programming. This role makes strategic, procedural, and developmental recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness and leads peer academic support services for the unit. The Associate Director demonstrates a steadfast commitment to embodying the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Student Success Division's core values of service, collaboration, and excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Assumes leadership responsibility for unit operations, programs, and personnel when the Assistant VP (AVP) is unavailable
  • Assists the AVP with strategic planning and implementation of high-quality academic support initiatives; identifies and incorporates best practices for student success
  • Assists the AVP with the development and management of the Peer Programs budget
  • Leads Peer Programs' functional area operations, including but not limited to the effective administration of Tutoring Services and Supplemental Instruction
  • Directly supervises Tutoring Services and Supplemental Instruction coordinators, including hiring, training, development, and evaluation; provides indirect supervision for graduate assistants and student staff
  • Oversees the outreach and marketing for Peer Programs to the campus community
  • Oversees ongoing assessment initiatives for Peer Programs, including the development and administration of assessment plans
  • Leads collaborative efforts with academic departments and units across campus, as they relate to Peer Programs; maintains liaison relationships
  • Provides support in representing the department at university events, including but not limited to orientation, open house, department and university committees


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience in higher education


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working with higher education students in academic support
  • Experience administering and coordinating Tutoring Services and Supplemental Instruction programs


Proposed Salary

$56,300 - $70,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
